Brian Anthony Wilson, Tim Daly and More Set for DTF's Upcoming Season (5/14/2013) - A host of Broadway talent as well as several film and television stars will be appearing on the Dorset Theatre Festival stage this summer. Tim Daly, well known for his work on Wings (NBC) and Private Practice (ABC) will headline in the first production of the season, Theresa Rebeck's The Scene. Joining him will be Geoffrey Arend (ABC's Body of Proof) and well-known NY stage actress Mary Bacon (most recently seen in the Michael John LaChiusa/Sybille Pearson musical Giant as well as on Bway in Tom Stoppard's Rock 'n' Roll). They will be joined by newcomer Carolyn Holding (The Philadelphia Story/Chautauqua). Adrienne Campbell-Holt will direct the production.

Opera Company of Middlebury Presents Tchaikovsky's EUGENE ONEGIN (5/10/2013) - The company started in an unfinished building with a 90-minute Carmen, using only four singers (all the company could afford), four musicians and a narrator. It was a very modest beginning for the Opera Company of Middlebury, which in ten years has grown into one of the region's major opera companies, presenting fully-staged professional productions in the intimate confines of Middlebury's Town Hall Theater.

Dorset Theatre Festival, Northshire Bookstore and Bennington Museum Announce Joint Vermont Civil War Series (5/9/2013) - The Civil War has a deep history in southwestern Vermont. To commemorate many of the events and people associated with the 150thAnniversary of this period, Northshire Bookstore, Dorset Theatre Festival, and Bennington Museum have created a series of programs, events and exhibits that take place throughout the Shires of southwestern Vermont beginning on May 23 and continuing through October.

STANDARD POODLE Comes to Town Hall Theater, 5/8 (4/26/2013) - Patty Smith, the elder stateswoman of the Vermont dance scene, has performed at Town Hall Theater as a solo dancer, with her students, and with dancers from around the state. On Wednesday, May 8th, she joins Karen Amirault and Shelley Ismail to create an evening of dance under the title Standard Poodle.

Lineup Announced for 3rd Annual Summer Pride Festival at Chandler (4/25/2013) - Chandler Center for the Arts and Pride Films and Plays bring the 3rd season of Summer Pride to Chandler Music Hall in Randolph, Vermont, July 12-14 and July 19-21. The festival -- the only one of its kind in the state -- was inaugurated in 2011 as a way to facilitate conversations among gay and lesbian Vermonters, their friends and family members, and the broader community.
