The following available roles in the 2014 season are being considered for Equity contracts. They are the only roles for which actors are sought at this time as many of our roles are CAST with the Theater's Conservatory Company:

A RAISIN IN THE SUN

Director: Ethan McSweeny
1st rehearsal: June 9 Runs June 27- July 6

Seeking:

WALTER YOUNGER
(30s, African American) a dreamer and instigator who wants to solve his family’s problems and strike it rich in the process. He devises a plan to invest his father’s life insurance money in a liquor store venture which leads to many significant complications. Great emotional depths needed as well as strong language skills.

LENA YOUNGER
(50s-60s, African American) The matriarch of the Younger family. She is firm, morally ethical and strong. Has worked a lifetime to be able to move her family to a home of their own. Now that it looks possible, she and her son are odds with how it should happen.

THE MAY QUEEN
a new play by Molly Smith Metzler

1st rehearsal: July 1 Runs July 18-27

Seeking:

MIKE TEJADA
(30s) Charismatic. Winning. Handsome. Always looks like he has just gone for a run-- and often has. Has a mysterious, natural confidence-- kinda like Derek Jeter's. Makes friends everywhere. But has been bruised up emotionally in the 15 years since high school.

GAIL GILLESPIE
(Early 40s- 50s) Mom of 2. Positive. Always smells good, always looks good, makes perfect brownies, has never been to Europe. Is also a licensed freelance masseur, fitness instructor and craft enthusiast.

THE TEMPEST
by William Shakespeare
Director: Jade King Carroll
1st rehearsal: July 15 Runs August 8-15

Seeking:

ALONSO
The King of Naples, has a son Ferdinand. He was involved in a plot to overthrow Prospero, which he comes to regret. Aware of the consequences of his actions.

ANTONIO
Power hungry brother to Prospero, he can be manipulative and plotting as he aims to take the throne from Alonso. He is sarcastic and unrepentant in nature.

GONZALO
Elderly and honest, as a counselor to the King, he helps Prospero and Miranda escape after Antonio has taken Prospero’s title. He is a moral, loyal and even-tempered center to the play.

GO WEST! an original InterArts Project
Director: Andrew Borba
1st rehearsal: July 14 Runs July 26 (One night only)

Parts are not yet defined, but we will be seeking one Male and one Female to play several roles. Musical talent a big plus.

NOTE: The GO WEST Project will be performed with the Chautauqua Symphony, Voice Department, Opera and Dance Companies.
