Prepare 2 brief contemporary monologues, preferably no more than 2 minutes total
Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

ACTOR 1.
Alicia: ONE NIGHT. Female, 30-38. Any race, prefer biracial/mix race/etc. Iraq War veteran. She is attractive, soft spoken, emotionally wounded, a mother. She suffers from PTSD
ACTOR 2.
Horace: ONE NIGHT. Male, 30’s Biracial/Black. Iraq War veteran. Handsome, physically fit, macho, charming, caring, has secrets. He suffers from PTSD. / Jeremiah aka J: THE ASHES UNDER GAIT CITY: Male 30’s. Biracial…his father was Black. Handsome.
ACTOR 3.
Meny: ONE NIGHT: Male, 50’s-60’s. A motel owner and a retired police detective…worked Vice. Strong, street smart, cunning. He carries a gun. / Zee: NORTH OF THE BOULEVARD: White male, 60’s-70’s. A nasty old bastard. He is a neighborhood character. Foul mouthed, sexist, racist. He is an angry old drunk.
ACTOR 4.
Male Roles: ONE NIGHT: 30’s-40. White. Plays: Army Major, State Trooper, Troop 1. Fire Marshal. Macho, strong, aggressive. A versatile actor to play multiple roles. / Trip: NORTH OF THE BOULEVARD: White male early 40’s. A former High School quarterback…now with a few extra pounds. He is an open and friendly guy. A good mechanic owns his auto repair garage. He is too nice for his own good. Known around the neighborhood as Saint Trip.
ACTOR 5.
Female Roles: ONE NIGHT: Female 25-30’s. Black American actor. Plays Medic, Lieutenant, Troop 2. Captain (Doctor), Interviewer. A versatile actor to play multiple roles. /D. THE ASHES UNDER GAIT CITY: Black American, 25-30’s. Simone’s client who becomes a believer then a follower. An attractive and kind person.
ACTOR 6.
Carolyn: DEAD AND BREATHING: early-mid 60’s, Black, female. Old money. Prim, but not at all polite. She is self-assured, cunning and bitter as hell. Please note: This role requires nudity. Carolyn is bathed in the bathtub by her Nurse, Veronika in the first scene.
ACTOR 7.
Veronika: DEAD AND BREATHING: Black, gender non-conforming (transgender) a live in Nurse who covers up a world of personal trauma with abrasive exuberance. The most unlikely Christian you will ever meet.
ACTOR 8.
Bear: NORTH OF THE BOULEVARD: Black male, 40’s. A large former offensive lineman in High School with Trip. A security guard. He is extremely bright but uneducated. He reads constantly. He knows a little bit about just every topic.
ACTOR 9.
Larry: NORTH OF THE BOULEVARD: White male late 30’s. He looks up to Trip and Bear. He is an orderly in an assisted living home. He goes through life looking slightly frightened. He was browbeaten by Zee his father. Innocent but sitting on some simmering rage.
ACTOR 10.
Simone: THE ASHES UNDER GAIT CITY. Black American female. An internet guru. People pay her to believe in them. Attractive, strong, persuasive, charming and charismatic.
ACTOR 11.
Felicia: THE ASHES UNDER GAIT CITY: Black American female, 30’s-40’s. She is a homeowner in the historically Black section of Gait City, Oregon. Strong, outspoken.
ACTOR 12.
Clay: THE ASHES UNDER GAIT CITY: Black American male. A mailman and follower of Simone’s online persona. He is visibly older than everyone else… (50’s…60’s)
ACTOR 13.
Claire: UNCANNY VALLEY: Female, late 60’s-70’s. A neuroscientist. Extremely intelligent, strong willed, and caring. A good mentor to Julian.
