Typical rehearsal schedule: Flexible, depending on schedule of Actors/Director until tech begins. Performances: Wed– Sun, with matinee and evening shows, at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown, MA, accessible by major routes and the #70 bus.

*MAN 1:
Role CAST. (Tenor, 30-40’s) Youthful and handsome. Laments of a lover who doesn’t love him back, the struggle of getting fit and healthy, the commitment of marriage, living life without a love, the importance of friendship, second chances, and growing up.

*MAN 2:
Role CAST. (Baritone, 40-50’s) A man approaching middle age and leaving youth behind. Reflects on the dynamic of friends and lovers, the struggle of getting through the day-to-day life of being a family man, becoming fit and healthy, moving forward and not looking back, balancing career and family, and what it means to be a father

*WOMAN 1:
Role CAST. (Soprano, 35-45’s) Homely and intelligent, with a modern flair. Expresses views on friendships with ex-boyfriends, the duality of public and private selves, remaining friends forever, balancing career and family, the surprises of middle-aged life, and becoming content with isolation.

*WOMAN 2:
Role CAST. (Soprano, 35-45’s) An energetic firecracker, with comedic ability and touching sincerity. She tells of a lover who doesn’t love her back, her belief on life-long relationships, giving love a second chance, the revitalization given to her by a new lover.

BALLADEER:
(Tenor/Baritone, 20-40’s) A folk singer and the narrator of the show. The voice of America.

BILLY:
(Male, 8-10) Sara Jane Moore's whiny son.

CHARLES GUITEAU:
(Tenor, 30-40’s) Assassinated President James Garfield in the waiting room of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station, Washington, D.C., on July 2, 1881. Dashing but mad.

DAVID HEROLD:
(Male, 20’s) One of John Wilkes Booth's confederates. Aided Booth in his attempted escape

EMMA GOLDMAN:
(Female, 30-40’s) Turn-of-the-century Anarchist agitator and feminist. Terse and stubborn. An inspiration to Czolgosz.

GIUSEPPE ZANGARA:
(Tenor/Baritone, 30’s) Attempted to assassinate President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt as he greeted well-wishers in Bayfront Park, Miami, FL on February 15, 1933. An angry, heavily-accented immigrant.

JOHN HINCKLEY:
(Baritone/Bass, 20-30’s) Attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan as he left the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. on March 30, 1981. A love-obsessed and depressed college student.

JOHN WILKES BOOTH:
(Tenor/Bass, 30-40’s) Assassinated President Abraham Lincoln during a performance at Ford's Theater in Washington D.C. on April 14, 1865. Foreman and inspirational celebrity to the other assassins.

LEE HARVEY OSWALD:
(Baritone/Bass, 20-30’s) Assassinated President John F. Kennedy from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas, TX on November 22, 1963. A suicidal, dejected shipping clerk.

LEON CZOLOGOSZ:
(Baritone, 20-30’s) Assassinated President William McKinley at the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, N.Y. on September 6, 1901. A young poverty-worn radical.

*LYNETTE "SQUEAKY" FROMME:
Role CAST. (Mezzo-Soprano, 20-30’s) Attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford at the Capitol Park in Sacramento, CA on September 5, 1975. A pixie hippie in love with Charles Manson.

SAMUEL BYCK:
(Baritone/Bass, 40’s) Attempted to assassinate President Richard Nixon by hijacking a commercial jetliner. Hysterically irate schlep in a Santa Claus suit.

SARA JANE MOORE:
(Soprano, 40’s) Attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, CA, on September 22, 1975. A frazzled housewife with little sense.

THE PROPRIETOR:
(Baritone, 30-50’s) A mysterious man who runs the shooting gallery at a carnival.

THE LITTLE PRINCE: (Boy, 8-12) An imaginative boy; he is playful, thoughtful, and sincere

ROSE/SNAKE:
(Female, late 20’s-30’s) Off-beat singer/dancer with flexibility and charm

MEN ON THE PLANET/FOX:
(Male, late 20’s-early 40’s) A multi-character male, he is able to portray a diverse range of playful characters within the Aviator and The Little Prince’s imagination.

PIT VOICE/DESERT FLOWER/GIGGLING ROSES
(Female/Soprano,20’s-30’s) A multi-character female, she is able to portray a diverse range of playful characters within the Aviator and The Little Prince’s imagination.

*MANASSEH BUENO BARZILLAI AZEVEDO DA COSTA:
Role CAST. (60’s) A Sephardim out-of-work actor devoted to his players in the Yiddish theatre. He is a clever, traditional, hard-working family man.

*DOLORES ISABELLA ADELA DA COSTA:
Role CAST. (20’s) A Sephardim woman, daughter of Manasseh. She is a kind and beautiful realist.

*SCHMUELLY BEN YITCHOK, A SCHNORRER:
Role CAST. (30’s) An Ashkenzi and an out-of-work prompter. He is in love with Dolores, and although he does not have the finances to support her, he is determined to win her, and her father, over.

*JOSEPH E. LAPIDUS:
Role CAST. (60’s) A wealthy Ashkenzi, he’s a distinguished man used to getting what he wants.

*ROSALIE LAPIDUS:
Role CAST. (50’s) An Ashkenzi woman and Lapidus Sr.’s wife. She is a smart woman who supports her husband’s decisions, at least until he messes up.

*JOSEPH E. LAPIDUS JR:
Role CAST. (20’s) A privileged Ashkenzi, goes by Joe Jr. He is dim-witted, unfiltered, and rude. He’s very attracted to Dolores and to any other woman that has two legs.

*WILKINSON, THE LAPIDUS MANSERVANT:
Role CAST. (30-40’s) A diligent and hard-working servant of the Lapidus Family.

*THREE SCHNORRERS, FEVISH, KEPISH AND NEBBISH:
Role CAST. (20-40’s) These men are hard-knock beggars; they’re out-of-work actors and have a goody charm to them.
