(5/10/2012) Not since the mid-1980’s, when the Vermont Ensemble Theater produced plays in a big white tent, has the town of Middlebury hosted a true summer theater festival. That’s about to change, as Town Hall Theater announces the first annual MiddSummer Nights Theater Festival.

(4/24/2012) Sandglass Theater’s Voices of Community Series opens May 4-5 with Sara Felder in June Bride, the fabulous tale of a traditional Jewish lesbian wedding. Sara is not your average award-winning solo theater artist, playwright, monologist and humorist. She is also a world-class juggling diva. Sara will be in residence at Sandglass for the week leading up to the performances on Friday and Saturday, May 4 and 5 at 8pm. Tickets are $15 general and $12 for students and seniors.

Red was first produced at the 250-seat Donmar Warehouse in London in December 2009, starring Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne. The production transferred to Broadway’s John Golden Theatre, with the same cast, for a limited run, from March 11 – June 27, 2010. It picked up six Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Direction, and Best Performance by a Featured Actor (Redmayne), as well as three Drama Desk Awards, including Best Play.
