After a government mandate and Covid-19 safety concerns shut down theatrical productions on its stage for two years, Penguin Rep Theatre will resume presenting plays, comedies and musical revues starting mid-March, artistic director Joe Brancato announced today.

On February 21, Klea Blackhurst turned her long association with Broadway’s Jerry Herman into a brand new show, ONE OF THE GIRLS at Birdland in NYC.

The 5th longest-running musical in Off-Broadway history and 2011 winner of the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, NEWSical The Musical, is coming to Majestic Repertory Theatre for a limited three-week engagement beginning April 1.

BIRDLAND will present the return of Klea Blackhurst: “One of the Girls: the Words and Music of Jerry Herman” on Monday, February 21 at 7:00 PM. After a hit engagement at the venue last fall, Blackhurst will bring back her salute to the beloved songwriter for one night only. 

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are open this February with a full slate of nightly performances!

She brings her Broadway tune filled tribute, 'One of the Girls: The Worlds and Lyrics of Jerry Herman,' to Bucks County Playhouse for one special performance on Saturday, December 4 at 8 p.m.

Blackhurst is no stranger to the world of Jerry Herman. She played Dolly Levi in the 50th-anniversary production of Hello, Dolly! at the Goodspeed Opera House with the enthusiastic endorsement of Herman himself. Her show is a loving tribute, filled with the big hit songs as well as some more enchanting obscure tunes, all tied together with some informative and sometimes dishy stories about the legendary composer of Milk & Honey, Hello, Dolly! Mame, Dear World, Mack & Mabel, The Grand Tour, La Cage aux Folles, and many others.

After an extended postponement, Kelli Rabke's much-anticipated show about tiny women with gargantuan voices has come into the light.

Blackhurst turns her long association with Broadway’s Jerry Herman into a brand new concert, her first new show in almost eight years.

BIRDLAND will present Amanda Green & Friends “Vaxxed AF!” on Monday, October 4 at 7:00 PM. Tony Award-nominated lyricist/composer and award-winning performer Amanda Green will be joined by some amazing Broadway friends, including Darius de Haas, Ann Harada, Lesli Margherita, Curtis Moore, Natalie Douglas, and Dan Finnerty of The Dan Band.

The New York Youth Symphony Musical Theater Songwriting Program (NYYS) and Director Anna K. Jacobs have announced the 2021/2022 Season. Heading into its fourth season the NYYS Musical Theater Songwriting program is specially designed to lead students through a range of musical theater songwriting processes. 

Now Comes the Fun Part opened at Riverbank Theatre in July and has enjoyed three weeks of sold out crowds. Due to popular demand, the show will be moving to the Snug Theatre for an additional two weekends, July 29 – August 7th.
