The Murder Mystery returned to the historic Wilburton Inn this spring after a pandemic gap. The Wilburton Inn, originally built in 1902 as a single-family residence, has been a famous Vermont resort since 1945.

Marc Bruni (Beautiful) will direct an industry reading of Glimpses of the Moon, a sparkling romantic musical based on one of Edith Wharton's rare comedies, Monday, March 11th, 6PM at the Players Club on Gramercy Park. In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the premiere, this reading is an opportunity for producers and audiences to fall in love with this romantic and funny, 6 character, 90-minute musical.

The first phase of #THEatreACCELERATOR program culminates in a live Shark-Tank-style pitch session where participants present their shows to theatre and tech industry veterans including Broadway Producers Deborah Taylor Barrera, Julie Boardman and Ashley DeSimone, BroadwayWorld.com founder and CEO Robert Diamond, Investor and Producer Frank Kavanaugh and Investor Jonathan Ledden.

The Dorset Theatre Festival has just completed its 6th Annual Writers Retreat hosted by Theresa Rebeck in collaboration with The Lark New Play Development Center. This year's writers in attendance were Theresa Rebeck (Seminar/Broadway, Smash/NBC), Ronan Noone (Lepers of Baile Baiste/Kennedy Center & Irish Rep), Jackie Reingold (In Treatment/HBO, String Fever/EST), Neena Beber (Misreadings/Humana), Suzanne Bradbeer(Shakespeare in Vegas/Dreamcatcher Rep), Marisa Smith (Saving Kitty/W.H.A.T.) and Eric Holmes.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the lineup of special events, concerts, student productions, and free developmental readings for its 10th annual festival. The festival also announced three additional full productions. This year's Festival will begin July 8th and continue through July 28th.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET) has announced the national release of the CD Cast Recording of Glimpses of the Moon featuring the cast and musicians from the Theatre's 2011 production. The release is being celebrated with a private party on Saturday, October 27th.

In September, DC area theatres are filled with almost a dozen musical productions opening -- classics, family shows, and many wonderful plays being performed on our over 200 theatre venues. The humidity is finally melting away, and it's a perfect time to welcome the cooler weather and the colors of the Fall by making a trip to the Nation's Capital and catching a show or two or three. There are family shows with canines and rabbits, a Labor Day weekend theatre festival that's FREE, a new jazz musical with some of the area's most talented singers, and bugs and ants that swing on trapezes. The Drama League and its friends held a special cocktail reception for 'Mr. Broadway' himself, Stewart F. Lane as he discussed producing for today's theatre. The event was followed by a signing of Mr. Lane's new DVD titled 'Let's Put on a Show!' which is an informed and witty guide on producing which covers everything from raising money to creating an audience.

SHARON CARR ASSOCIATES, LTD announced today the addition of Jessica-Snow Wilson to the cast of GLIMPSES OF THE MOON. Wilson will be replacing Autumn Hurlbert in the leading role of Susy. GLIMPSES OF THE MOON premiered exactly one year ago at the Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel to rave reviews and quickly sold out its limited run. The show returned this fall with an expanded production and received more enthusiastic reviews. The run has now been extended through the end of March, with performances every Monday night. Starting in February, in partnership with the Algonquin Hotel, the production is adding alternating Thursday lunch matinees.
